Want a new beauty regime to take control of your skin in 2019 but not sure where to start? Well keep on reading because we'll show you how to create lasting beauty habits that are affordable and easy to follow.
Step 1 – the double cleanse.
Get ready to feel the freshest you've ever felt. This step is oh so important because this is the step that is going to really clean up your skin and get rid of the days dirt, make up and anything else clogging up those pores. The double cleanse is your saviour because it takes about 3 minutes of your precious time and it gets the job done properly. Simply apply Heimish All Clean Balm and then follow with your daily cleanser. Our current pick is Aesop's In Two Minds Cleaner because it includes Salicylic Acid which is a BHA (and if you read our previous blog post you'll know why this is so good for your skin!).
Step 2 – time to tone!
Toning takes approximately 30 seconds and is perfect to prep your skin for your make up. Our favourite at the moment is Son & Park's Beauty Water that cleanses as well as toning. Not only can it be used in the morning before applying make up, but you can use it at night after cleaning to help wipe away impurities.
Step 3 – oil up!
Oil is a great way to feed your skin the nutrients it needs and it's easy to apply and absorbs quick. Vitamin C is one of our absolute go to's - it is proven to reduce the signs of ageing and brighten the overall appearance of your skin. If you are new to the skin care game we definitely recommend you add a Vitamin C oil to your regime. The Ordinary's Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% is a product we are currently using and we're loving the results. We're always up for younger, fresher looking skin. To apply, simply put a few drops on your face and gently rub in. If you're not up for vitamin C, that's totally fine, there are a range of different oils you can use from caffeine to improve puffiness under your eyes to Salicylic Acid to work on your pores.
Step 4 – last but not least!
Moisturise! A hydrating moisturiser is an essential to keep your skin happy. Our favourite is The Ordinary's Natural Moisturising Factors + HA. It keeps your skin hydrated whilst not leaving that greasy feeling that you can often feel with other moisturisers. Applying your moisturiser at the end as the last step will help to lock in all the goodness you applied to your face in steps 1, 2 & 3 and will leave your skin feeling silky & smooth.
If you follow these 4 steps morning & night, that altogether take you less than 10 minutes, you'll be amazed at the results. Not only will it be easy to get into the habit of taking care of your skin with the right products, but you can have all of these products for $100. Then when you're comfortable with these products & ready to take the next step, you can start to introduce more products to target specific skin issues you might be facing. Don't worry, we'll tackle these in another blog post & guide you through!
For now, we've put the links below to each of them with the price so you can make them yours.
If you don't want to get everything in one hit (which we totally understand, it can be hard to commit to everything if you've never tried any of it!) we'd suggest to start with the All Balm Clean, Beauty Water & Natural Moisturiser.
Remember - cleanse, tone, oil up, moisturise!
